Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer for the Information Technology department to support a large Federal agency initiative. The role emphasizes research-driven design, accessibility, and collaboration with federal clients to deliver intuitive web and mobile experiences.

The candidate will lead design efforts end-to-end, mentor junior designers, and ensure deliverables align with USWDS and 508 standards. A strong portfolio and the ability to obtain a Public Trust are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required and ability to obtain Public Trust.
• 10+ years combined professional design experience (UCD, UI/UX).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating research-driven design for web and mobile.
• Experience with user research methodologies and user-centered design principles.
• Knowledge of personas, flows, affinity mapping, and related tools.
• Familiarity with 508 and USWDS standards in design.
• Experience mentoring junior designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-scale UX design efforts including research and blueprinting.
• Plan, design, and implement multiple sites and apps across clients.
• Lead user research to inform usable web interfaces and applications.
• Collaborate with federal engineers and clients on innovative solutions.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate ideas.
• Develop scalable design resources to support collaboration.
