Job summary

Chandra Technologies, Inc is seeking a Sr. UI/UX Developer/Architect to lead design system initiatives, build accessible, reusable components, and ensure federal WCAG compliance across state projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentoring capabilities to uplift accessibility practices. The candidate will develop from scratch using USWDS or similar systems, integrate with Storybook, and ensure scalable, accessible front-end architectures for enterprise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Proven ability to set up and integrate enterprise design systems, including the development of high-level wrapper components and reusable component libraries.
• Strong expertise in WCAG 2.1/AAA standards, ARIA roles, semantic HTML, and accessibility testing tools.
• Proficiency in HTML, SASS, and Angular.
• Experience using Storybook for component development and collaboration.
• Strong understanding of UX best practices and accessible user interface design.
• Experience with USWDS or other enterprise-level design systems.
• Experience with .NET, MVC, and SQL to support backend integration and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design System Development: Build, document, and maintain a scalable design system and reusable component library using USWDS or similar enterprise systems.
• Accessible Component Development: Develop wrapper components with HTML, SASS, and Angular for accessibility and consistency across apps.
• Accessibility Compliance: Ensure components meet WCAG 2.1/AAA and perform accessibility testing.
• Storybook Integration: Use Storybook for development, documentation, and cross-team collaboration.
• Mentorship: Partner with developers across teams to enforce accessibility and UX standards.
• Project Support: Provide accessibility and UX support for major state systems by the deadline.
• Code and Accessibility Reviews: Participate in reviews and audits to ensure quality.
