Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior User Interface Design Engineer to create intuitive, high-trust digital experiences for clinical tools and care-facing platforms. You will lead end-to-end UI design across product verticals, focusing on accessibility, plain-language clarity, and reducing cognitive load for care teams.

You will own discovery through delivery, contribute to design systems, and prototype complex interactions.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on product design experience delivering digital products
Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or related field
Expert-level Figma skills including auto-layout, tokens, component variables, and interactive prototyping
Ability to combine strategy with hands-on execution within a design system
Strong communication to explain design decisions and tradeoffs with engineers
Experience in healthcare or regulated/high-stakes domains; AI-aware design is a plus

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end UI design for assigned product verticals from discovery to delivery
Support and contribute to design systems and scalable patterns
Present design rationale to stakeholders and align teams
Create interactive, high-fidelity prototypes for complex interactions
Explore integration of AI-assisted tools in design processes
Plan and conduct qualitative user research and usability testing
Champion WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility and plain-language design
Consider privacy, patient trust, and regulatory requirements in designs
