Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior User Interface Design Engineer to craft intuitive, high-trust digital experiences across clinical tools and care-facing platforms. You will blend strategic thinking with hands-on execution from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery, while leveraging AI-fluent design tooling as it evolves.

You will work with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders to solve complex healthcare workflows, improving cognitive load for care teams and clarity for patient care.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on product design experience delivering digital products or complex enterprise platforms from concept to launch.
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level Figma skills (auto-layout, tokens, component variables, interactive prototyping).
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution within established design system and standards.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high design quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Outstanding communication skills: articulate design decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and engineers.
• Demonstrated success using design to improve business outcomes (patient satisfaction, engagement, or operational efficiency).
• AI fluency: understanding of AI-driven features in-product and interest in AI-assisted design tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design for assigned product verticals from discovery through pixel-perfect delivery.
• Support and contribute to design systems, patterns, and scalable standards.
• Present design recommendations and rationale to stakeholders and build alignment across teams.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes to demonstrate complex interactions and validate user flows.
• Plan and execute qualitative user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions with users and stakeholders.
