Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior UI Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated UI tests using Selenium and Playwright, with a strong emphasis on QA quality across enterprise applications. You will lead test planning, collaborate with global teams, and drive automation strategy and coverage.

This onsite role in Tampa, FL requires 6+ years of hands-on QA experience, expertise in UI automation, API testing, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on Quality Engineering and test automation throughout the SDLC.
• Proven expertise in Selenium and/or Playwright for UI test automation.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or equivalent frameworks.
• Hands-on API testing, REST service validation, and integration testing.
• Experience with Oracle database testing, SQL validation, and data reconciliation.
• Strong experience with Jira for test management, defect tracking, and Agile delivery support.
• Working knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience validating batch processing, end-to-end workflows, and data integrations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated UI test suites using Selenium, Playwright, and BDD frameworks.
• Create and execute automated tests across web apps, APIs, databases, and backend systems.
• Define test strategies translating requirements into test scenarios and risk plans.
• Lead test planning, execution, defect management, status reporting, and release validation.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to improve automation frameworks and test coverage.
