Job summary

Talentify is seeking a QA Automation Engineer in Tampa, FL to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites with strong UI automation using Playwright and Selenium. You will work across web UI, API, and backend validation with a focus on reliability and scalability.

Ideal candidates have 8–12 years of experience, expertise in Cucumber BDD, REST API, and DB2, and will collaborate closely with Dev leads, PO, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of QA automation experience.
• Strong UI automation with Selenium/Playwright and BDD (Cucumber).
• Proficient with REST API testing and DB2 validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for web UI, API and backend validations.
• Define test strategy and create test data and contingency plans.
• Own test planning, execution, defect management and release sign-offs.
• Validate REST services across functional, regression and integration tests.
• Perform Oracle DB testing and data reconciliation where applicable.
• Ensure end-to-end workflow validation including batch jobs.
• Act as QA advocate in Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with Dev leads and PO.
• Utilize Jira, Git and CI tools for test cycles and reporting.

Job description

Our client, a IT Services and Consullting company, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer for their Tampa, FL location.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites with a strong emphasis on UI automation using Selenium and/or Playwright, and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Build and execute automation scripts across web UI, API, and backend validation; ensure tests are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
• Define test strategy by decomposing business and technical requirements into test scenarios, test data needs, and contingency plans.
• Own test planning and execution: test case execution plans, defect management, reporting/status metrics, and release sign-offs.
• Validate REST services through functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure reliable, end-to-end coverage.
• Perform database testing in Oracle (SQL validation, data reconciliation, stored procedure outcomes as applicable).
• Validate batch jobs and end-to-end workflows (scheduling, file/data handoffs, downstream impacts).
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies as the team's quality advocate; proactively identify defects early in each sprint/iteration.
• Use and contribute to SDLC tooling such as Jira (test cycle management/defects), Git, and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines).
