Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer to design and maintain automated UI and API testing frameworks across multiple projects. You will work with Automation Architects, Sr. QE, and Developers to ensure comprehensive testing coverage, reliability, and quality.

The role emphasizes collaboration, ROM estimates, and establishing metrics to measure automation effectiveness, with a focus on AI-enabled testing capabilities and CI/CD alignment.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred in CS/business or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on software testing, development and/or test management experience.
• Experience with BDD and TDD a plus; Azure DevOps and Azure cloud testing platforms a plus.
• Experience with UI and Rest API automation.
• Strong analytical and time-management skills.
• AGILE/DevOps CI/CD process administration knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for developing and completing UI and API automation test activities across multiple projects within plan/sprint timelines.
• Maintain current test automation processes and best practices; adapt to IT/business needs.
• Provide ROM estimates and forecast automation resources.
• Establish metrics to measure productivity, progress, and automation effectiveness.
• Identify improvements and best practices for test automation and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with QE team, developers, and DBAs to troubleshoot failures in test environments.
• Partner with senior automation roles to align with strategy.
