Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in the United States seeks a Senior UAS Systems Integration Engineer to support development, integration, testing, and optimization of next-generation small UAS. This role spans software, electrical, mechanical, and aerospace engineering, requiring hands-on integration of hardware and software, prototype flight testing, and debugging across subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
• 5+ years in UAS, aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• 3+ years hands-on experience developing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting drones or autonomous platforms.
• Experience with Linux, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with C/C++, embedded systems, and common comms protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C).
• U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and troubleshoot avionics, sensors, communications, payloads, propulsion, and autonomy software.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Support system architecture, requirements development, interface definitions, and technical documentation.
• Bring up and validate prototype aircraft, including first power-on testing and software installation.
• Configure and tune flight controllers and autopilot (PX4/ArduPilot).
• Analyze flight logs and system data with Python or MATLAB.
• Plan and support laboratory, ground, and flight testing activities.
• Perform hardware debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies.
• Troubleshoot RF communications, telemetry, and data links.
• Conduct root-cause investigations and drive system-level resolutions.
