Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s Los Angeles Refining (LAR) in Carson/Wilmington, CA seeks an experienced Senior Turnaround Specialist to lead planning and execution of turnarounds safely, on time, and within budget. You will coordinate scope development, schedule management, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role requires at least 7 years coordinating maintenance projects in refinery environments, strong MS 365 proficiency, and familiarity with Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date).
• Must have at least 7 years of experience coordinating or planning in maintenance, projects, or construction in a refinery, petro-chemical or heavy industry.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to wear PPE in the refinery and pass hair drug test and physical.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Travel requirement is 5% or less.
• Onsite schedule Monday–Thursday, 6:00AM–4:30PM with extended hours during Turnaround events.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall scope development of Turnaround events with multiple departments.
• Own the work scope development process and ensure alignment with stakeholders.
• Demonstrate safety and environmental stewardship during planning and execution.
• Review and monitor schedules, budgets, and work packages.
• Develop manpower and equipment hiring plans with contractors.
• Coordinate planning meetings and ensure proper risk management and action item tracking.
