Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Martinez, California seeks a Senior/Lead Operations Turnaround Coordinator to ensure site compliance with the TAR planning process across all teams. The role manages planning, scheduling, and contractor coordination for turnarounds.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of refinery operations experience (or a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 4+ years) and strong Microsoft 365 skills, PPE readiness, and valid US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 7 years of refinery operations experience including 1 year as an Operation TAR/Outage Coordinator, Planner or Supervisor in a refinery OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 4 years of refinery operation experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365: Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery and pass hair drug test and physical.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without VISA sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensures site compliance with the operations turnaround planning process across all area teams.
• Coordinates planning and execution activities between Operations, Maintenance, Products Control, Technical Service and TAR groups, ensuring POP milestones are met.
• Represents site on the Operations TAR Planning Network and shares best practices in TAR planning across the enterprise.
• Trains and mentors planners throughout the planning and execution process.
• Develops, maintains, and updates the sites’ POP and refinery sequence plan with Operations and Products Control groups.
• Coordinates and leads Critical Path Value Optimization training for CP units.
• Establishes contractor requirements for turnaround shutdown and startup activities and reviews scope with contractors.
