Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Turbomachinery Balancing to establish, qualify, and scale balancing processes for turbomachinery hardware, including turbine wheels, impellers and blisks, shafts, and complete rotating assemblies.

You will own the balancing process, select and commission equipment, develop tooling, ensure measurement validation, and implement production-ready balancing capabilities in collaboration with Design Engineering, CNC

Qualifications

• 5+ years of turbomachinery balancing experience or ownership of rotor-balancing processes.
• Direct experience setting up and commissioning balancing stations with calibration and process validation.
• Hands-on balancing of turbomachinery components or precision rotating assemblies with understanding of unbalance and balance-correction principles.
• Knowledge of precision fixturing, GD&T, datum structures, alignment, and runout.
• Ability to troubleshoot and document repeatable balancing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead specification, selection, installation, and qualification of balancing stations and related equipment.
• Develop and validate component- and assembly-level balancing processes.
• Design and qualify balancing arbors, mandrels, collets, and fixtures.
• Establish calibration, verification, and measurement-system evaluation methods.
• Collaborate with CNC Manufacturing on material-removal correction processes.
• Translate product requirements into balancing specs, inspection criteria, and acceptance criteria.
• Troubleshoot balance discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Create setup procedures, work instructions, and training guides; provide hands-on production support.
• Establish traceability for balance measurements and tool configurations.
• Improve cycle time, first-pass yield, and process consistency.
