Air Products in Bethlehem, PA seeks a Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamic Design Engineer to lead advanced aerodynamic design of turboexpanders and centrifugal compressors across the equipment lifecycle. You will perform CFD and 1D/2D/3D analyses, develop tools, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver efficient turbomachinery solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in turbomachinery aerodynamic design.
• Experience with CFD-based analyses and flowpath optimization.
• Knowledge of turbomachinery testing and data evaluation.
• Familiarity with aerodynamics principles and mapping techniques.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for modelling.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design activities for customer projects and improve efficiency and operating range.
• Conduct preliminary sizing and performance calculations during proposals and refine in execution.
• Apply CFD, 2D/3D methods, and 1D performance calculations as appropriate.
• Develop and improve aerodynamic tools, sizing methods, and prediction models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external software providers as needed.
• Support testing, data analysis, field commissioning, and troubleshooting.
