Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) is seeking a Turbine Installation Technical Advisor to provide on-site technical leadership during the erection and installation of new steam turbines, turbine valves, and auxiliary systems.

You will collaborate with EPC contractors, Toshiba Japan engineering, and TAES project teams to ensure installation activities comply with design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• 10+ years field experience in steam turbine installation/erection/commissioning.
• Direct experience with steam turbine installations, turbine valves, and auxiliary systems.
• Knowledge of installation practices, tolerances, preservation, cleanliness, and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical advisory support for erection and installation of turbines, valves, and auxiliary systems.
• Long-term project site assignments domestically and internationally, up to one year per site.
• Ensure installation activities comply with design drawings, specifications, manuals, and quality requirements.
• Serve as primary technical interface between EPC contractors, TAES project management, and Toshiba engineering.
• Review and validate EPC installation procedures, lift plans, sequences, and method statements for technical compliance.
• Perform, witness, and document Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) inspections during installation.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, elevations, clearances, torques, interfaces, cleanliness, and preservation.
• Identify and support resolution of installation non-conformances with engineering/quality teams.
• Provide guidance to EPC supervision and craft labor to resolve field issues.
• Participate in site safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
• Support installation walk-downs, completion verification, and handover readiness to commissioning.
