Job summary

Schnabel Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Manager in Tunnel Engineering to lead program management, engineering reviews, and construction oversight on a major tunneling program in eastern Massachusetts.

This on-site role requires strong leadership and collaboration with owners, staff, consultants, and contractors. The ideal candidate has 20+ years in tunnel engineering and construction management, with experience on large rock tunnel projects, and a PE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of tunnel engineering and construction management experience.
• Experience on large rock tunnel projects and shaft excavation.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, QA/QC, safety and environmental compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the program management team supporting the project owner.
• Collaborate with Schnabel staff, consultants, and contractors to deliver the program.
• Apply problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges and ensure client satisfaction.
• Assist in developing strategies for a multi-billion dollar deep hard rock tunneling program.
