Job summary
Mott MacDonald in New York City seeks a Lead Engineer to develop advanced numerical models for evaluating tunnels in soft ground and rock, large caverns, and deep excavations. You will formulate non-linear soil and rock constitutive relationships and produce design drawings, reports, and technical specifications.
You will mentor staff, support bid proposals, and collaborate with senior leaders while coordinating field investigations and data interpretation.
Qualifications
- Six years of tunnel engineering and underground design experience.
- Experience with numerical analysis using Plaxis/FLAC and soil-structure interaction.
- Experience in geological modeling and ground investigation.
Responsibilities
- Develop advanced numerical models for underground works (tunnels, caverns, deep excavations).
- Produce reports, specifications and drawings for underground projects.
- Mentor staff and support bid proposals.
- Coordinate field investigations and data interpretation; ensure high-quality solutions.
