Job summary

First American is seeking a reconciliation specialist to establish, build, and maintain relationships with Trust Accounting clients. You will provide full-service reconciliation from routine to complex levels of escrow and title partners, focusing on resolving issues and maintaining data integrity.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of reconciliation or accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-7 years of directly relevant reconciliation, accounting, or audit work experience, mortgage or title insurance industry preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and demonstrate the ability to learn custom applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Experience with financial software
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Compare financial records: Reconciliation specialists examine a company’s escrow accounting records, such as ledgers and bank statements, to ensure they match
• Identify discrepancies: They look for any inconsistencies or errors between different financial sources
• Investigate and resolve: When discrepancies are found, they investigate the causes and work with clients to resolve them
• Ensure accuracy: Their primary goal is to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data
