Job summary

Knight Transportation is hiring a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on company equipment, including tractors and trailers. The role requires reading manuals, diagnosing issues, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience with on the job training or diploma in vehicle maintenance.
• Must possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results required.
• High School Diploma or combination of training and/or experience required.
• Drivers license required.
• Must possess superior customer service skills.
• Must be able to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders.
• Must possess excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and repairs on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.
• Repair or replace body components to meet OEM and DOT specifications.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment of various systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components including engines and transmissions.
• Perform offsite repairs and tire maintenance as directed.
