Job summary

The Office of the Attorney General, Colorado Department of Law, seeks an experienced attorney to join the Special Prosecutions Unit in the Criminal Justice Section. The role emphasizes complex felony prosecutions and close collaboration with local prosecutors.

Responsibilities include advising district attorneys, drafting and arguing motions, voir dire, and trying cases with regular statewide travel. A Colorado Bar admission or eligibility to waive in is required; strong writing and litigation

Qualifications

• Admitted to the Colorado Bar or eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a prosecutor at the district court felony level.
• Exceptional litigation, writing and communication abilities; knowledge of CRP and evidence rules.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist local district attorneys and investigators on complex felony prosecutions.
• Draft indictments, pleadings, pre-trial motions, and conduct voir dire and trial.
• Maintain strong collaboration with prosecutors and law enforcement; frequent travel within Colorado.
• Participate in all phases of prosecution from discovery to trial and post-trial matters.
