Job summary

The Colorado Department of Law's Special Prosecutions Unit is seeking an experienced attorney to join a dynamic team in the Criminal Justice section. The role focuses on advising local district attorneys and investigators in the investigation and prosecution of complex, multi-jurisdictional felony offenses, with substantial trial and pre-trial work.

Applicants must be admitted to the Colorado Bar or eligible to waive, with at least 3 years of prosecutorial experience, and a demonstrated ability

Qualifications

• Admitted to the Colorado Bar or eligible to waive into it.
• Minimum 3 years prosecuting district court felony cases.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Knowledge of the Colorado Rules of Criminal Procedure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist local district attorneys and investigators.
• Handle complex multi-jurisdictional felony prosecutions.
• Manage pre-trial motions, discovery, voir dire, trial, and post-trial work.
• Travel within Colorado as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and prosecutors.
