Job summary

Adams County Colorado’s 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office seeks a Senior Deputy District Attorney to lead felony prosecutions, work with law enforcement, and advocate for victims within a high-profile office.

You will manage a large caseload, perform high-level trials, negotiate plea agreements, and mentor junior attorneys while upholding professionalism and integrity in all proceedings.

Qualifications

• Must possess a law degree from an accredited law school.
• Seven (7) years minimum experience as prosecuting attorney.
• Prior felony prosecution experience required.
• Must be a licensed attorney permitted to practice law in the State of Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to seeking justice, preserving community safety and improving the criminal justice system.
• Perform the duties of a District Court prosecutor, including preparing and conducting jury trials on high level felony offenses such as homicide cases, sex assault cases etc.
• Maintain a large caseload of felony cases and shepherd the cases through the system, including plea offers, victim work, witness prep, and coordination with law enforcement and defense attorneys.
• Represent the 17th Judicial District and District Attorney with professionalism and integrity in dealings with court officials, witnesses, and the public.
• Serve as a leader and mentor to less-experienced attorneys within the office.
• Establish and maintain relationships between the District Attorney’s Office and the community.
• Demonstrate leadership to improve units and teams within the District Attorney’s Office.
• Serve as a liaison to law enforcement agencies within the District Attorney's Office.
• Provide on-call services to police agencies during nights and weekends.
