Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to represent insureds and the company in complex litigation. You will manage a substantial caseload from pleadings through trial, including depositions, motions, expert discovery, and trial preparation with minimal supervision.

You will work remotely from a home office with intermittent travel to California for case-related matters, depositions, and court hearings. A California license and strong conflict-resolution skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Active law license in good standing in at least one state (California preferred).
• Experience defending insureds in insurance defense matters and handling depositions, court appearances, dispositive motions, and trial work.

Responsibilities

• Represent the insureds and Sentry in defending claims with no conflict of interest.
• Manage a caseload from pleadings through trial with minimal supervision.
• Communicate progress, strategy, and developments to policyholders and claims teams.
• Assist in resolving matters via mediation, arbitration, settlements, or court-approved resolutions.
