Job summary

Nationwide's Legal team is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney in Pennsylvania to lead civil litigation for property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation, represented as lead counsel when appropriate. Caseloads vary in complexity and jurisdiction; you will maintain a productive docket, use technology, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate with claims partners to serve clients.

This role requires strong hands-on advocacy, exceptional written and verbal skills, and a willingness to travel;

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active license in the practicing state.
• Typically more than eight years of civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical capabilities and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise and lead as lead counsel or as part of a team with minimal oversight and in accordance with Nationwide Trial Division guidelines.
• Utilize technology and collaborate with staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain a highly productive caseload and adapt to changes in law and technology across jurisdictions.
• Mentor junior attorneys and staff, and coordinate with claims partners to meet client expectations.
