Wilson Elser in New York City is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney with 8+ years of defense litigation experience to join a high-performing litigation team. The role covers complex premises liability, personal injury, general liability, and NY Labor Law matters from intake through trial, with significant trial exposure and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of defense litigation experience
• Experience with construction (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) matters, insurance defense, premises liability, and/or general liability
• Experience appearing in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials
• Demonstrated trial experience with personal injury, general liability, or tort cases preferred
• Superior analytical and strategic thinking with strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation, construction (NYS Labor Law), and other litigation matters
• Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation through trial
• Regularly conduct/defend depositions, court appearances, and motion practice; prepare witnesses and case materials
• Collaborate with attorneys, team members, and Partners on case strategy and matters
• Provide status updates and counsel to clients; manage expectations and deliver outcomes
• Assist in trial strategy discussions and prepare trial exhibits and evidence
