Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York.
• At least 8 years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with construction (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) matters, insurance defense, premises liability, and/or general liability.
• Experience appearing in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Demonstrated trial experience with personal injury, general liability, or tort cases preferred.
• Superior analytical skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience drafting complex legal documents.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, construction (NYS Labor Law), and other litigation matters.
• Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation through trial.
• Regularly conduct/defend depositions, handle court appearances, and motion practice.
• Effectively prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong representation of clients.
• Work closely with other attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects and case strategy.
• Communicate with clients to provide status reports, advice, and counsel regarding case developments.
• Participate in trial strategy discussions and prepare trial exhibits and evidence for litigation.
• Provide high-level client service by actively managing expectations, keeping clients informed, and delivering excellent outcomes.
