Career Developers Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Trial Attorney with at least 8 years of defense litigation experience to join our litigation team in a hybrid role in New York City.

The position focuses on premises liability, general liability, and construction-related matters, including NY Labor Law cases, with opportunities for significant trial work. The candidate will manage complex cases from intake through trial and collaborate with Partners to develop case strategy.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York.
• At least 8 years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with NY Labor Law 200/240/241 and related construction matters.
• Experience appearing in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Trial experience in personal injury, general liability, or tort cases preferred.

Responsabilités

• Independently manage a caseload across insurance defense, general and construction liability.
• Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation through trial.
• Regularly conduct/defend depositions and court appearances.
• Prepare witnesses and draft trial exhibits and evidence.
• Collaborate with partners on case strategy and client communications.
• Provide status updates and counsel to clients regarding case developments.
• Participate in trial strategy discussions and manage client expectations.

Senior Trial Attorney General Liability/Construction (Hybrid in NYC) (Full-Time)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, LI, WP

Salary: $200K - $225K Base Salary

Must Haves

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York
• At least 8 years of defense litigation experience
• Experience with construction (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) matters, insurance defense, premises liability, and/or general liability
• Experience appearing in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials
• Demonstrated trial experience with personal injury, general liability, or tort cases preferred

The Position

We seek a highly skilled and motivated trial attorney with at least 8 years of experience to join our high-performing litigation team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to defend complex cases in premises liability matters involving personal injury and property damage claims and in general liability and labor law matters, with significant opportunities for trial work.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing cases from initial intake through trial.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, construction (NYS Labor Law), and other litigation matters.
• Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation through trial.
• Regularly conduct/defend depositions, handle court appearances, and motion practice.
• Effectively prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong representation of clients.
• Work closely with other attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects and case strategy.
• Communicate with clients to provide status reports, advice, and counsel regarding case developments.
• Participate in trial strategy discussions and prepare trial exhibits and evidence for litigation.
• Provide high-level client service by actively managing expectations, keeping clients informed, and delivering excellent outcomes.

• Experience with construction (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) matters, insurance defense, premises liability, and/or general liability

• Superior analytical skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience drafting complex legal documents
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and responsibly
