Job summary

Burford’s Construction LLC is seeking a Trimmer A, an experienced climber who performs pruning, rigging, and removal tasks with precision and safety. Proficiency with aerial lifts is desirable but not required.

The role requires handling bucket trucks, chainsaws, and chippers, ensuring safety, and supporting team training. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant experience in vegetation management.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Have a good work ethic.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to work extended periods in various locations.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is a top priority and promote a safety-conscious work environment.
• Demonstrate trustworthiness and responsibility in all job-related activities.
• Possess understanding of proper pruning techniques, including natural and directional pruning.
• Possess all the requirements for the lower climber classifications.
• Demonstrate expertise in climbing trees near energized lines and performing maintenance tasks.
• Safely removing overhangs with suitable assistance and pruning around live conductors.
• Knowledge of climbing trees around energized conductors and rope-cut removal using equipment when needed.
• Assist in on-the-job training of less experienced climbers and bucket operators.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment used in tree care: bucket trucks, chainsaws, bucket operation, chippers.
• Exhibit good judgment and day-to-day decision making.
• Join storm restoration efforts when needed.
