Job summary

Modern Construction Services is seeking an experienced Commercial General Superintendent to join our team and lead on-site activities across multiple projects. This road warrior role thrives in dynamic environments, driving quality, safety, and schedule adherence from day one.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial construction, strong knowledge of safety standards, and proficiency with Procore and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a construction superintendent / general superintendent in commercial construction.
• 5 years experience managing Superintendents, coordinating with project managers, and developing field staff.
• Demonstrated ability to independently run a commercial construction project from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and subcontractor management.
• Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project.
• OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, AED certifications.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel — this is a traveling role with extended stays at project sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily construction activities on-site, ensuring work is executed in compliance with drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trade partners at the site level, including orientation, scheduling, and performance oversight.
• Maintain a safe and compliant job site — conduct subcontractor safety orientations and enforce safety protocols.
• Ensure quality control and verify that all installations meet required standards before acceptance.
• Develop and maintain the three-week look-ahead schedule and manage overall construction schedule to ensure on-time completion.
• Coordinate deliveries, inspections, and milestones to keep the project on track.
• Manage punch list processes and project closeout documentation.
• Report directly to the President of Construction and log daily progress and site conditions.
