Job summary

A Safe Place in Illinois seeks a Behavioral Health Therapist III to provide assessments, treatment planning, therapy, crisis intervention, and care coordination for children, adults, and families affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. The role maintains a caseload of 20-25 clients and leads some group sessions.

Travel across Lake County sites is required, with a schedule including daytime and rotating on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in a clinically related behavioral health field and LPHA eligibility.
• Independent licensure in Illinois (LCSW/LCPC or equivalent).
• 3+ years of post-graduate experience in behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health intakes, assessments, and risk evaluations.
• Provide individual and group therapy to children and adults affected by domestic violence and trauma.
• Develop and update individualized treatment and service plans with clients.
• Provide clinical consultation on diagnosis, treatment planning, and crisis intervention.
• Conduct safety planning and crisis assessment.
• Foster survivor-centered, trauma-informed care, including telehealth where needed.
• Coordinate care and referrals with internal teams and community providers.
• Provide psychoeducation on trauma, safety, recovery, and access to resources.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality assurance.
• Provide supervision and support to interns and fellow therapists.
