Job summary

University Health seeks a Senior Trauma Outcomes Coordinator with a strong background in trauma nursing and performance improvement. You will lead trauma PI efforts, analyze outcome data, and drive continuous improvements from care entry to disposition across the continuum of trauma services.

You will collaborate with Trauma Services teams, maintain PI records, develop customized reports, mentor new coordinators, and ensure compliance with national benchmarks and best practices in trauma care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Minimum 3 years of Trauma PI experience, including ACS Verified programs.
• RN practice for at least 3 years in ED or Critical Care with trauma care.
• Texas RN licensure or reciprocity.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• TNCC provider.
• PALS or ENPC for pediatric cases.
• TOPIC knowledge or training.
• TCAR or PCAR.
• Professional trauma certifications (CEN/CCRN/TCRN) within 1 year.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist trauma quality program to promote optimal, efficient trauma care across the continuum.
• Promote continuous improvement from admission through disposition and follow-up.
• Maintain records of trauma PI activities and secure Trauma Outcomes database.
• Obtain and analyze information to develop or modify PI initiatives.
• Create customized reports and disseminate findings to improve trauma outcomes.
• Use state/national benchmarks to set trauma care standards and goals.
• Serve as facilitator/leader for process-improvement efforts.
• Provide training and supervision for new Trauma Outcomes Coordinators.
