Qualifications

• 5+ years as transportation manager in a similar industry.
• Excellent communication and teamwork under pressure.
• Solid knowledge of State and Federal DOT regulations.
• Exceptional leadership skills.
• Geographical comprehension and analytics.
• Understand contracts and capital projects in traffic, shipping, and receiving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all employees adhere to State and Federal DOT and company safety policies.
• Keep records, logs, and schedules of all transportation vehicles and drivers.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound equipment and freight from origin to destination.
• Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for destinations.
• Provide monthly branch reports as required.
• Responsible for monthly finished goods inventory.
• Responsible for purchasing resale finished goods inventory.
• Hire, train, and monitor all aspects of personnel in the traffic department.
• Maintain control of department expenses.
• Ensure driver’s quarterly meetings are completed.
• Complete Purchase Requisition for expenditures.
• Understand contracts and capital projects in traffic, shipping, and receiving areas.
• Work with vendors on equipment and personnel needs.
• Monitor all aspects of employee performance.
