The role requires at least 5 years as a transportation manager, strong DOT knowledge, leadership, and analytical thinking.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.
• Solid knowledge of State and Federal DOT regulations.
• Exceptional leadership skills.
• Geographical comprehension.
• Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics.
• Understand contracts and capital projects in the traffic, shipping, and receiving areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all employees adhere to State and Federal DOT and company safety policies.
• Keep records, logs, and schedules of all the transportation vehicles and drivers that are monitored and controlled by the branch.
• Coordinate the movement of all inbound/outbound equipment and freight from point of origin to destination.
• Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
• Provide monthly branch reports as required.
• Responsible for monthly inventory of finished goods.
• Responsible for the purchasing resale finished goods inventory.
• Hire, train, and monitor all aspects of personnel in the traffic department.
• Maintain control of department expenses.
• Responsible for ensuring driver’s quarterly meetings are completed.
• Complete Purchase Requisition for any expenditure.
• Understand contracts and capital projects in the traffic, shipping, and receiving areas of responsibility.
• Work with vendors on equipment and personnel needs.
• Monitor all aspects of employee performance.
