Somerset Court of Rocky Mount is seeking a dedicated Resident Transporter to ensure residents are transported safely to medical appointments, community activities, and other outings.

The role emphasizes assisting residents with boarding and exiting vehicles, maintaining clean, fueled vehicles, coordinating schedules, and upholding safety and regulatory requirements. The position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (required).
• Experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service (preferred).
• Ability to operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and walkers.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled appointments and activities.
• Assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles.
• Keep vehicles clean, fueled, and well-maintained; report concerns.
• Coordinate transportation schedules and routes with staff and residents.
• Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and document incidents.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to residents.
