Job summary

Heath House in Lincolnton, NC is seeking a dedicated Resident Transporter to ensure residents are transported safely to medical appointments, community activities, and other outings. You will assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles and help keep vehicles clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service is preferred.
• Ability to operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs (wheelchairs and walkers).

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities.
• Assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain and report vehicle maintenance issues to management.
• Coordinate transportation schedules and plan efficient routes with staff and residents.
• Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and report incidents to staff.
• Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner during transportation.
