Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Transportation/Roadway Engineer V in Orlando, FL to lead design efforts on FDOT projects, preparing contract plans, specs, and estimates. The role requires supervising and guiding engineers and technicians, with hands-on roadway geometry design and coordination across multiple disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil Engineering, a Florida PE (or eligibility), and 8+ years in transportation design, proficient in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and MS Office,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida is highly desired.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in transportation design.
• Proficient in Microstation and OpenRoads Designer with the ability to train and supervise the technical work of engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs process design of multi-discipline transportation engineering projects, including evaluating alternatives, conducting engineering studies and design calculations, and performing preliminary and detailed design.
• Provides technical expertise to ensure compliance with design intent, project scope, and state and federal design criteria and standards.
• Develops contract plans and prepares technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Assists with project execution and delivery including development of project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Responsible for day-to-day activities and coordination of engineers, designers, and technicians as assigned to a specific project.
• Performs quality control on engineering work products including design calculations, models, drawings, reports, specifications, and estimates.
• Assists with marketing and business development efforts.
• Effectively communicates/coordinates with internal and external partners/stakeholders including clients, discipline leads, sub consultants, regulatory agencies, and utility companies.
