Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Transportation Project Manager based in Raleigh, NC. This role requires an experienced civil engineer with transportation design and construction knowledge to lead multi-disciplinary projects and mentor teams.

You will oversee planning, design, and delivery of rail, roadway, and port projects, coordinate with stakeholders, ensure quality and compliance, and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules. A PE license is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering discipline + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Experience with NCDOT divisions, business units and projects preferred.
• NC Professional Engineer License.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proven track record in project management, delivery, and engineering staff development.
• Experience with rail (passenger or freight) infrastructure design and/or port/marine projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager on multi-disciplinary transportation projects.
• Oversee planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects including rail, roadways, grade separations and port terminals.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide quality assurance and ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Support the development of project scopes and estimates, engineering budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineering staff across disciplines.
• Direct and manage the entire project, provide guidance to task leads and project team, and enforce policies.
• Be the primary liaison between AECOM and client for the project.
