Job summary

Morrison-Maierle is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer and Project Manager in Helena, MT to lead roadway and transportation projects for state and local DOT clients. This role emphasizes project execution, client management, and team leadership from scoping through delivery.

You will manage urban and rural roadway design, multimodal improvements, and bridge coordination, while building client relationships and supporting business development. PE license and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• PE license required or ability to obtain licensure within defined timeframe.
• PMP certification a plus.
• ABET-accredited Bachelor's in civil/construction engineering.
• Progressive highway/transportation engineering experience.
• Mentor/reviewer/discipline resource experience for engineers.
• Advanced project management experience leading complex projects and teams.
• Strong financial, project profitability, and planning acumen.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and processes.
• Ability to develop client relationships and generate new business.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget.
• Serve as primary DOT/agency contact, building trusted relationships.
• Oversee roadway/multimodal design development aligned with project goals.
• Coordinate internal teams and subconsultants for on-time results.
• Execute QA/QC across project deliverables.
• Support proposals, scope development, and project pursuit.
• Analyze engineering challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Engage stakeholders to communicate goals and progress.
• Mentor junior staff on technical work and delivery.
