Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC designs and delivers transportation projects to improve how communities move and connect. You will lead complex projects, build client relationships, mentor staff, and solve real-world engineering challenges on FDOT, county, and municipal initiatives across Florida.

This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from pursuit through design, permitting, bidding, and construction, working with a collaborative team of engineers, designers, and specialists.

Qualifications

• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Experience managing projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, or other public-sector clients.
• Strong understanding of FDOT standards and project delivery processes.
• Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and build long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Collaborate with FDOT and local agencies; coordinate with utilities and permitting authorities.
• Oversee project budgets and schedules; guide technical staff through delivery.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and client communications; lead teams through design, permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Support business development, proposals, interviews, and client relationship management.
