Apex Companies is seeking a motivated Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead transportation projects for municipalities and FDOT-related initiatives. You will oversee scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, technical guidance, and the ability to deliver plans, specifications, and estimates in alignment with FDOT standards. Eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus and performance-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in civil or transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida.
• Experience in project management for municipal or county transportation projects.
• Working knowledge of FDOT standards, the Florida Design Manual (FDM), MUTCD, and local agency design criteria.
• Proficiency with MicroStation / OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to lead client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and delivery of transportation projects for local and regional government clients, including roadway, sidewalk, intersection, and multimodal improvements.
• Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects—responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination.
• Prepare and oversee development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in accordance with FDOT and local standards.
• Coordinate with public agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities.
• Conduct and/or oversee traffic analysis, safety studies, and roadway geometry design.
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
