Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex transportation engineering projects from planning through delivery, driving client satisfaction and project profitability. You will manage scope, contracts and schedules, guide design teams, maintain strong client relationships, and mentor junior staff while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• 15+ years of related work experience and prior project management on similar projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team to complete transportation projects; responsible for fulfillment of executed client contracts and financial performance of project
• Establish and monitor project scope and fee, ensuring work is performed according to contract and modifications are obtained
• Use project management tools to track tasks and timelines, ensuring timely completion of project stages
• Manage and review design task assignments, including preparation of design calculations, plans, and submittals
• Communicate high-level concepts with team members, internal groups, and external entities including clients and government agencies
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a streamlined design process with minimal revisions
• Attend to client needs; defuse conflicts, escalating issues as needed
• Provide constructability reviews; perform independent peer reviews on submittals
• Potentially serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects
• Build client relationships and identify business opportunities with client accountability
• Participate in project meetings with clients and subcontractors
• Negotiate and execute contracts with clients and subconsultants with finance and legal teams
• Work with Project Accountants to set up projects and review expenses and labor charges
• Submit and review financial reports including percent complete and project profitability
• Utilize CRM to report and track ongoing opportunities and pursuits
• Lead proposal management for lead pursuits
• Support marketing initiatives and project write-ups
• Mentor team members and identify training opportunities
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding processes
• Ensure timely completion of timesheets and expense reports for self and team
