Job summary

C&S Companies in Western New York is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead transportation projects from early planning through final design and construction support.

You'll work directly with clients, mentor younger engineers, and guide project teams while maintaining ownership of technical and delivery decisions. The role emphasizes leadership, client relations, and expanding our transportation practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• Eight or more years of transportation engineering experience.
• Experience delivering NYSDOT and Federal Aid transportation projects.
• Strong roadway and highway design experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing design reports, plans, specifications, estimates, and bid documents.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead project teams and develop productive client relationships.
• New York PE license preferred or willingness to obtain after joining.

Responsibilities

• Lead meaningful transportation projects from planning through design and construction support.
• Solve engineering problems and deliver high-quality designs while mentoring younger engineers.
• Direct client and agency coordination and maintain strong client relationships.
• Oversee design reports, plans, specifications, estimates, and bid documents.
• Provide construction-phase engineering support and quality oversight.
