C&S Companies in Buffalo, NY is seeking a senior transportation engineer to lead projects from concept through construction. You’ll serve as a technical resource for clients and project teams, delivering NYSDOT and Federal Aid transportation projects while mentoring younger engineers.

You’ll manage highway design using NYSDOT standards, prepare design reports and bid documents, build lasting client relationships, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• NYSDOT/Federal Aid project experience preferred.
• 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

You’ll lead transportation projects from concept through construction while serving as a trusted technical resource for clients and project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing highway and transportation projects from planning through construction support
• Leading roadway design using NYSDOT standards and Federal Aid requirements
• Preparing design reports, construction plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Providing technical leadership and quality oversight throughout project delivery
• Building strong, long-term relationships with clients and agency partners
• Mentoring engineers and helping develop the next generation of transportation professionals
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, practical infrastructure solutions

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• New York Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred) or willingness to obtain shortly after joining
• Eight or more years of transportation engineering experience
• Strong experience delivering NYSDOT and Federal Aid transportation projects
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead project teams while building productive client relationships

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Salary Range: $121,680 -$138,320 annually

Actual compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, technical expertise, geographic location, and market conditions.
