Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Transportation Technical Engineer to become the Olympic Region’s senior project controls and reporting specialist. You will strengthen project management practices, advance controls, and provide reporting that supports informed decisions and successful project delivery across the region.

You will align regional practices with statewide initiatives, collaborating with Headquarters, project offices, and regional groups to promote

• Program management principles used to plan, schedule, and track tasks and budgets.
• Engineering principles applied to project management in transportation/construction.
• Advanced decision making and problem-solving for complex projects.
• Advanced skills in Primavera P6, CM, Unifier and Windows MS Office tools.

• Assess project management needs for Olympic Region offices, groups, and consultants.
• Develop region-wide project controls and reporting strategy.
• Create and train Region staff for scheduling and controls/reporting.
• Serve as subject matter expert in schedules, cost management, and reporting.
• Present trainings virtually or in person to varied audiences.
• Provide system admin support and training for PM systems.
• Implement and support PMRS and reporting tools for capital projects.
• Support project schedule software like Primavera P6 and PRI.
• Plan, prioritize, and review staff work with clear expectations.
• Adjust staffing and schedules to meet workloads.
