Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Practice Leader to join our Boston, MA office. You will oversee large transportation projects, expand the firm’s New England presence, and lead a high-performing team with a focus on client service and technical excellence.

You will drive project delivery, foster client relationships with public agencies and utilities, and mentor engineers and staff while collaborating with Marketing and Operations to grow the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Massachusetts PE license is required.
• 15+ years of experience in transportation, highway, roadway, or related civil engineering disciplines.
• Proven track record delivering complex transportation and utility projects.
• Strong roadway design, grading, drainage and utilities knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale highway, roadway, and transportation projects from planning through design and delivery.
• Prepare and oversee design plans, estimates, technical specs, and project reports.
• Develop conceptual and final roadway designs including alignments, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Serve as trusted advisor and client manager for public agencies and utility clients.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and project staff.
• Drive business development initiatives to expand market presence and revenue.
• Collaborate with marketing on client strategies, capture plans, proposals, and pursuits.
• Build and retain a high-performing team in partnership with Operations and HR.
• Lead cross-functional teams with a culture of collaboration and excellence.
