Job summary

STV in Dallas is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer/Planner to lead transportation planning and traffic engineering projects across North Texas.

You will guide project teams, advise clients, and mentor junior staff while applying travel demand models and a mix of tools like VISUM, TransCAD, ArcGIS, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL datasets.

This role offers client exposure with TxDOT, NCTCOG, municipalities and authorities, and opportunities to grow STV's Texas practice.

Qualifications

• 11+ years in transportation planning or traffic engineering consulting.
• Texas PE license and a relevant engineering degree.
• Experience leading corridor, transportation planning, and multimodal studies.
• Ability to apply travel demand models, GIS, and visualization tools to decisions.
• Collaborative leadership style with strong client management and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead corridor, mobility, master planning, traffic impact, safety, and multimodal studies.
• Use data, modeling, and visualization tools to evaluate needs and investments.
• Develop travel demand models, traffic forecasts, and scenario analyses with industry tools.
• Conduct operations, safety, and microsimulation analyses using standard methods.
• Evaluate transit, active transport, freight, and emerging mobility strategies.
• Serve as project manager or technical lead, guiding scope, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare reports and recommendations communicating findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to STV’s Texas practice growth.
• Collaborate with roadway, ITS, transit, environmental, and planning professionals.
