Job summary

Kimley-Horn seeks a Senior Transportation Planner/Project Manager to lead a multidisciplinary transportation planning practice in the DC area. You will oversee planning, production, and delivery of projects such as parking, mobility plans, corridor studies, safety plans, transit studies, rail studies, pedestrian and bicycle initiatives, EV plans, and climate resilience.

You will mentor staff, engage communities, and support grant writing and client relationships.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of planning experience, including large capital transit infrastructure projects.
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or related.
• Registered American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Preferred.
• Local and regional experience preferred.
• Deliverables with exceptional client service.
• Desire to lead and grow a planning practice.
• Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader in a growing, multidisciplinary transportation planning practice.
• Manage planning, production, and delivery of projects including parking, mobility plans, corridor studies, safety, transit, rail, pedestrian and bicycle, EV plans, resilience, MPO studies, LRTPs.
• Lead public engagement and grant writing; mentor and develop staff.
• Support clients with program management, capital planning, and policy development.
