Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Washington, DC is seeking an Environmental Planner to join our multi-disciplinary team and lead planning and environmental efforts for infrastructure projects.

You will guide technical plans and reports, mentor analysts, and build client relationships while coordinating with a diverse team. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in transportation or environmental planning, with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Environmental Policy, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible planning experience in transportation, environmental or urban planning; Master’s +6 years acceptable.
• Excellent writing, communication, organization, problem solving, and consensus-building skills.
• Commitment to high quality work with attention to detail; self-motivated team player.
• Ability to balance priorities across multiple projects and lead planning projects with direction to Analysts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as key member on the planning and environmental team for infrastructure projects as Planning and Environmental Manager.
• Lead the writing of technical plans and reports, summary papers, environmental documents, and re-evaluation, including defining work scope and developing recommendations.
• Provide input, technical guidance, and direction to other team members, managing workflow.
• Respond to information requests from the client and project team.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Mentor and develop Analysts, providing leadership and promoting teamwork and growth.
