The City of Oakland seeks a planner to lead planning and inclusive community engagement for major transportation infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and community stakeholders to advance safety, access, and equity for Oaklanders.

You will guide engagement from planning through design, pursue grant funding, and work with diverse communities to ensure outcomes prioritize neighborhoods most in need.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required in transportation, urban planning, public policy or related field.
• Experience in transportation planning or related field is preferred.
• Commitment to equity and engaging diverse communities.

Responsabilidades

• Overseeing development, planning, inclusive engagement, evaluation, and administration of transportation projects.
• Developing and implementing inclusive public engagement plans for transportation projects.
• Preparing and delivering presentations and conducting public engagement activities for multiple transportation initiatives.
• Coordinating meetings across City of Oakland departments and with external stakeholders.
• Representing the Department’s projects in meetings with community members, partner agencies, and professionals.
• Negotiating and managing professional service contracts with consultants and vendors.
• Ensuring project decisions are informed by quantitative and qualitative data.
• Writing reports, memos and grant applications.
