Job summary

ZMC Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced senior leader to manage the transportation department, drive driver recruitment, and optimize dispatch, routing, and fleet maintenance across the Northeast region and beyond.

You will coordinate with the Transportation President on cost controls, compliance, and performance metrics, while ensuring timely reporting and continuous process improvements in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transportation/logistics preferred.
• 7–10+ years leadership in transportation/logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service.
• Experience with TMS, routing software, and telematics (PeopleNet/Trimble/Platform Science).
• CDL preferred and highly desired.
• Strong organizational, reporting, and deadline-driven skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain drivers and supervisors for a stable workforce.
• Ensure DOT compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Optimize fronthaul and backhaul to maximize revenue and efficiency.
• Identify cost-saving measures with the Transportation President.
• Oversee scheduling, routing, and dispatching daily activities.
• Meet transportation performance metrics set by leadership.
• Develop staff performance metrics and reports for improvement.
• Learn all dispatch aspects and cover during vacations/absences.
• Support Fleet Shop Manager to keep fleet in optimal condition.
• Maintain fuel tax data entry for timely IFTA filings.
• Address accidents with reporting, insurance, training, and root-cause analysis.
• Perform other duties as required.
