Position Purpose:
  • This is a salaried position, and compensation is based on the candidate's qualifications and work-related experience.
  • Daily uniforms and working boots are provided free of charge.
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, starting at 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. The Senior Transportation Supervisor is expected to work around 10 hours per day, with some weekends required based on business needs.
  • Valid CDL Class A or B and DOT MEC card.
  • Clean MVR (driving record) is a PLUS.

Oversees the transportation department of one or more locations within the assigned geography; providing leadership within the location(s) as assigned. Acts as the liaison between customer, operations, CSRs, and the support team.

Key Job Activities:

Customer First:

  • Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure adequate stock at all times.
  • Manage driver debrief process, ensuring documentation (manifest, PDT receipt, etc.) for every customer transaction. Update route comments as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service as measured by key metrics (on-time, no missed stops, loyalty, etc.).
  • Develop relationships with customers and establish contacts for accurate service feedback.
  • Conduct customer visits to review service.
  • Manage customer interaction records to resolve service issues.

Company Growth:

  • Review payroll hours to ensure efficiency and necessary overtime.
  • Manage route vehicles, containers, load bars, straps, hand-trucks, PDTs, printers, and other equipment and assets.

Team Member Development:

  • Select, train, and develop staff, making efforts to build a qualified, diverse workforce.
  • Establish and communicate performance standards and conduct appraisals.
  • Perform ride-alongs and spot checks to ensure safety, efficiency, and customer service quality.
  • Conduct onboarding activities, including I-9 completion and orientation.
  • Complete location audits.

Compliance:

  • Track and input DOT hours using JJ Keller.
  • Administer company policies, ensure safety, and interpret procedures.
  • Monitor employee performance for safety and productivity, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Participate in the Safety Improvement Committee (SIC).
  • Maintain Driver Qualification Files, DOT logs, and Vehicle Condition Reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  • May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
  • Valid driver's license required; commercial driving experience a plus.
  • Maintain a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
  • Ability to work safely and carefully to prevent injuries.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, HIPAA, and NAID regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and routing.
Certifications and Licenses:

Commercial Driver's License A or B (CDL).
