Buchart Horn seeks an Associate Vice President – Transportation in Baton Rouge, LA to lead our Transportation Business Unit. This senior role focuses on civil and transportation project delivery, operations, staff development, and business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Leadership or management experience in engineering consulting.
• Strong understanding of DOT standards, transportation funding, and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across transportation engineering projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and compliance with contract requirements
• Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the Business Unit, including staffing, resource planning, and performance reviews
• Contribute to annual business planning, sales forecasting, and budgeting in alignment with corporate objectives
• Supervise and mentor project managers, engineers, and support staff to drive high-performance project delivery
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and scopes; assist with resource allocation and technical oversight as needed
• Participate in proposal preparation, fee development, contract negotiation, and client presentations
• Support and implement Business Unit’s policies and initiatives, including performance management and process improvements
• Strengthen relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities through networking and outreach
• Collaborate with other corporate leaders on multi-disciplinary pursuits and project coordination
• Oversee project reviews, QA/QC standards, and technical excellence in all phases of design and delivery
• Maintain current knowledge of transportation engineering practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements
• Represent Buchart Horn at client meetings, industry events, and professional conferences
